Our Acuvue-accredited practices provide consistently excellent contact lens fitting and aftercare
Are you already a long-term glasses wearer? Perhaps you’ve just received a new eyewear prescription and don’t feel that glasses would suit your lifestyle. If this is the case, contact lenses could be the perfect solution for you.
Contact lenses sit directly on the eyeball and can correct long- and short-sightedness as well as astigmatism and presbyopia. Some patients are unsure about the discomfort of having a lens within their eye, so do take advantage of our free contact lens trial to make sure you’re comfortable before you commit to this type of eyewear.
You can be sure that you’re always in the best possible hands: all of our practices are accredited Acuvue Centres of Excellence. This status is achieved through continued training and development of our staff, meaning that you’ll consistently receive the most up-to-date and thorough eye care.
Types of Contact Lenses
Soft, disposable lenses are the most common, and are generally made of a flexible silicon hydrogel. Extended wear (overnight) lenses are made of a slightly different material which not only prevent lens dehydration throughout the day but are also safe to wear whilst you’re asleep too. Multifocal or varifocal lenses give you the best of both worlds – clearer vision for both close and distant focus.
There are alternative ways in which you can pay for your contact lenses, depending on your situation and personal choice. These options are our ‘Freedom plans’, and you can choose between the Freedom10, Freedom20 or Freedom30 plan.
All Freedom plans include the following:
- Annual eye examination and contact lens check
- Discretionary 6 month contact lens check
- Any other appointments, as required
- 10% off all spectacle purchases
- 10% off all contact lens solutions, sundries etc
- 20% off all non-prescription sunglasses

Freedom10 and 20 are both suitable for daily disposable lenses, and include either 10 or 20 pairs of lenses per month respectively. Should you need any additional lenses above this allowance, these will be available at the standard pay-as-you-go rate. Similarly, Freedom30 allows you to receive 30 pairs of lenses per month, or a pair of monthly contact lenses for each month – ideal if you wear disposable lenses every day.
Alternatively, you can use our ‘pay as you go’ scheme, where you pay for your sight test and contact lens check annually and purchase contact lenses and solutions as you require them. This is a popular solution for patients who wear contact lenses infrequently.
